The new Joint Venture, representing best practices such as ITIL® and Prince2® has announced its intentions to incorporate ‘Experiential Learning’ such as business simulations into training products.

‘…Whilst there is still a place for traditional methods, practitioners in the 21st century demand the ability to learn at the time, place and style of their choosing. Increasingly, we see a shift from ‘learning by listening’ to ‘learning by doing’, underpinned by the increase in modular approaches to learning, plus simulations and other experiential learning techniques‘ (First edition eBulletin from the New Joint Venture).

Currently many Training organizations do not have Business simulations or ‘Experiential Learning’ offerings in their portfolio. Many will be asking themselves ‘Why should I‘? and may decide to wait and see. This strategy could present a threat and be a business risk, as a growing number supplier organizations are adoptinng them and an increasing number of customer organizations are requesting them.

GamingWorks has had 10 years of experience in helping our partners incorporate Business simulations and ‘Experiential learning’ techniques into their courseware, and into ITIL & Prince2 adoption and deployment programs.
